The Data Warehouse Developer 2 is a mid-level technical position responsible for designing and maintaining the Business Intelligence infrastructure for the enterprise, including the data warehouse, data integration tools, clinical quality, and clinical analytic tools.
The Data Warehouse Developer 2 is a mid-level technical position responsible for designing and maintaining the Business Intelligence infrastructure for the enterprise, including the data warehouse, data integration tools, clinical quality, and clinical analytic tools.

Works independently with general supervision; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

Fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills, policies and procedures to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. Serve as a key contributor on data and information centric initiatives including data warehouse structure, ETL processes, and external data interfaces.
Serve as a key contributor on the overall design and implementation of the BI infrastructure including evaluation and recommendation of software tools, definition of hardware requirements, and system configuration.
Serve as a key contributor on the development of reporting models that define relationships between tables in the data warehouse and simplify the report development process.
Interact with the other departments to understand and identify data needs and requirements and work with other members of the IT organization to deliver warehouse and reporting solutions to address those needs.
Interact with data analysts in IT and other departments to understand the documentation and training requirements needed to efficiently utilize the BI infrastructure including the development and maintenance of an enterprise metadata repository.
Provide second level support of production BI environments.
Perform design and code reviews for data warehouse developers, report developers, and data analysts.
Monitor performance of all warehouse and reporting systems; provide ongoing performance tuning, review logs, clean temp files and all other administrative issues required to ensure applications and databases are performing efficiently.
May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support employees.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience is required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED :

EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 5 years hands-on experience working with database and warehouse technologies and architectures; including both logical and physical designs, data mart creation, ETL tools, loaders and development and reporting tools is required. This experience should include influencing global data architecture directions and defining major data architecture related technology standards.
A minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in various data definition and modeling projects and demonstrated capabilities in carrying best practices and common objects/components to other projects is required

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Experience with development processes and production release management; application and database tuning and interdependencies on operating system configuration is highly desired.
Experience with health care related data highly desired.
Experience or knowledge of FACETS or similar claims processing system.
Excellent communication (oral/written) skills with respect to team members, peers, and staff at all levels.
Ability to write functional and technical specifications for assigned projects.
Excellent Microsoft Office product skills, especially Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Must possess excellent organizational skills, be detail oriented with an ability to meet critical deadlines.
