Royal American Management

The Marketing Department is responsible for creating a consistent brand image through the execution of all design projects within Royal American Companies. The graphic designer will work directly with the Director of Marketing as well as collaborate with members of the marketing team to conceptualize and design a wide variety of creative assets across print and digital media for a portfolio of apartment communities and affiliated brands within Royal American Companies that span several industries (Management, Development, Construction, Hospitality, and Insurance). Collaborating with multiple teams across the company, the graphic designer should be able to take written or spoken ideas and convert them into a design that connects to each concept or brand. These projects will mainly include brand identity creation, print & digital collateral, website branding, presentations, and social media graphics. This role requires a high level of creativity, excellent writing and editing skills, attention to detail, and project management skills. Our ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of branding and marketing and be able to find the right style and layout for every project.
Incumbent is expected to have excellent attendance and communication skills, possess the ability to build lasting business relationships, and exhibit professionalism.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage marketing request system and maintain a creative workflow to increase efficiency of marketing department
Conceptualize and design creative assets within set brand standards for a portfolio of apartment communities, corporate level branding, and affiliated brands within Royal American Companies with a strong focus on flyers, price sheets, brochures, and business cards. Projects include but are not limited to: Social graphics, print advertisements, branding, websites, PowerPoint presentations, brochures, look books, HTML emails, infographics, trade show displays, and more; including drafting copy and proofing collateral
Takes initiative to maintain productivity in the managers absence
Manages and protects all companies and Chapman-owned sites brand by ensuring consistency in communications, design elements, and adherence to brand
Managing and maintaining graphic files and archives, including logos, photos, print templates, sponsor materials, and miscellaneous project information
Maintain and manage all brands websites and other online platforms including Individual property websites, microsites, intranet, social media, Internet listing sites, and Google My Business by regularly updating content, graphic elements, photos, announcements, etc.
Research and coordinate creative idea generation for new marketing initiatives
Coordinate with third-party agencies, web designers, printers, art services, etc. to develop websites, floorplans, videos, promo items, print materials, etc. as necessary
Work with a wide range of media and graphic design software
Create brand books with guidelines for how logos should be displayed and used for all applicable companies and ensure they are routinely reviewed, updated, and maintained
Build and maintain positive business and client relationships across multiple departments and sister companies to build teamwork and foster collaboration
Researches and uses technologies, tools, and strategies that continually evolve and improve our creative processes and request system
Attend internal and external meetings as needed and coordinate and/ or follow up on assigned tasks
Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as requested
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles
3+ years of experience in design / project management in a related field or organization
Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud application , Microsoft Suites, Word Press, and a basic knowledge of HTML & CSS a plus
Strong knowledge of design principles, composition, color, layout, and typography
Organizational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organization
Detail oriented, exhibits a high level of creativity and bold initiatives with confidence and forward thinking
Creative problem solver who thrives when presented with a challenge
Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team
Education and Experience
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in Marketing and Graphic Design, or another related field
Minimum 3 years experience in graphic design, fine art, or relevant field
Proven experience with Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop , Illustrator, and InDesign
Intermediate experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent project management and time management skills
Photography experience and proficiency with photo-editing software preferred
Portfolio Required
Physical Demands:
Must be able to read printed materials and computer screen with or without MS or other software accessibility functions
Work with a computer for a minimum of seven hours daily either standing or sitting
Work in an office environment for eight hours, daily
Ability to effectively communicate with others in Microsoft Teams and Zoom meetings, Webinars, pre-recorded training sessions, face-to-face, by phone, email, and through formal business writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company
