The Instructional Designer will be the main point of contact for all training content related to AmQuip University, and training programs within the company. This role will work with SME across the organization to create new training to improve our employee’s knowledge and skills in their roles. The Instructional Designer will be responsible for AmQuip U, the LMS, and for updating and centralizing training that has already been created. This role provides administrative support to the Learning and Development Manager as needed.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Develops and designs courses and curriculum.Edits and develops online learning materials.Creates learning experiences and environments.Designs learning activities, assignments, and assessments.Creates computer-based training (CBT) modules and storyboards.Develops instructor’s manuals, rubrics, and other teaching tools.Collaborates with subject experts to develop course content.Manages online learning communities.Analyzes, updates, and refines existing online content.Trains instructors, students, and employees in how to use learning technologies.Facilitates discussion and collaboration via social media.Keeps current on best practices in instructional design.Writes scripts for video and audio content.Works with technical staff to troubleshoot problems reported by users.Requirements:Required Skills/AbilitiesKnowledge of instructional theory, including assessmentProficiency with learning management systems (LMS)Understanding of web site design best practicesExcellent project management and organizational skillsExperience with design platforms, such as InDesignFamiliarity with course management systems, such as BlackboardExcellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical colleagues and clientsCritical thinking skillsAbility to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous deadlinesEducation and ExperienceBS, MS, or higher degree in instructional design, education, or related fieldTeaching or administrator’s license a plusExperience as a classroom instructorMinimum 5 years of previous experience in instructional designWork EnvironmentProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
